Droits d'urgence is an association created in 1995 that fights for access to the law for people in situations of social exclusion and vulnerability and their relatives.
The association brings together legal professionals: lawyers, jurists, magistrates, bailiffs, academics, etc. Droits d'urgence's action involves going directly to meet people to welcome them, inform them and accompany them in partner associative and institutional structures.
How can it help you?
Legal clinics
The Emergency Rights teams receive, inform and accompany people in situations of social exclusion and vulnerability free of charge for all legal requests (foreigners' rights, housing rights, criminal law, civil status, etc.).
If you find yourself in such a situation, you can go to the Law Access Points, or Points d'Accès au Droit (PAD) in Paris, which are free and permanent reception points that assist with legal and administrative procedures.
The association also mobilizes volunteer legal professionals to go and meet excluded people directly where they are through information and legal support sessions in reception centers, shelters, hospitals, prisons, etc.
Domestic Violence Unit
Droits d'rgence has set up a reinforced reception area dedicated to domestic violence in the PAD of the 20th arrondissement of Paris. If you are a victim of domestic violence, you can go there to receive personalized support (legal, administrative, and medico-social).
Droits d'urgence has also set up a legal access and support site for victims and witnesses of domestic violence and their families: https://droitsdirects.fr/
It is a free, confidential, anonymous site with practical information sheets (legal, social, and administrative), a map of professionals specializing in domestic violence throughout France, and a help and guidance pathway providing initial information and recommendations.
