The French Red Cross is a humanitarian aid association belonging to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, founded in 1864.

This association is present throughout France. Its mission is to prevent and alleviate the suffering of people in vulnerable situations in all circumstances and to protect their lives and health, particularly in times of armed conflict or other emergencies.

How can it help you?

Food, material, and financial assistance

If you are in a precarious situation, you can benefit from food aid through food distributions and social grocery stores established on French territory. You can also benefit from clothing assistance in the checkrooms and stores organized by the Red Cross.

The association can also provide financial assistance to pay electricity, gas, and fuel bills.

Psychological support and social isolation

The Red Cross has a free and confidential psychological support telephone service. If you are in a situation of psychological suffering or social exclusion, you can contact the help and support service at +33 800 858 858. The Red Cross teams can then provide you with information and solutions.

Access to rights

The Red Cross has set up several mechanisms to give you better access to your rights and be more autonomous.

For example, you can ask for personal microcredit to help finance a professional project or an individual need. It is a bank loan adapted to your needs, granted by a Red Cross partner bank, with a controlled interest rate.

The Red Cross also organizes educational workshops allowing people with difficulty to acquire basic knowledge (literacy workshops, school accompaniment, French courses, etc.).

The Red Cross also allows people who do not have a fixed address to apply for a domiciliation at the Red Cross to receive mail, claim their rights, and benefit from social services.
